A Look Back at 2012: Counterpoint Visit the Indonesian Embassy

Counterpoint Dance Company has had a great 2012…

It was our third birthday, we performed at some very interesting spaces and theatres, including Oxford House and The Queen Elizabeth Hall. We collaborated with great people such as East London Dance, Jane Judd from The Bull Theatre and met some wonderful older dancers who inspired us to carry on with our work.

One of our most recent successes was to dance for the Indonesian Ambassador and his Wife for their mothers day celebration at the Indonesian Embassy just before Christmas.  Oemi, one of our Counterpoint dance members and I danced a duet for the celebration of Mothers day and the piece represented the relationship between mother and daughter, revealing the separation between Oemi and her far away daughter who lives in Indonesia.  Everyone was very welcoming and curious about Counterpoint Dance and we talked with the Ambassador and his wife who were very warm and interested.  And to top off the evening, we enjoyed some exquisite Indonesian food!

He that can have patience can have what he will.
